Best Birthday Ever

I might be 27 today but I still feel 20.  I feel too young to have a almost 2 year old and having to make grown up decisions with another "20" year old.  :)  When I bought my Mazda a few years ago it took all I had not to call up my Dad and have him tell me yes or no.  I probably should of called.  The answer would of been no.  Haha!  Well this birthday was AWESOME!!

First off Brady 100% surprised me with this beautiful entertainment center!  I went to a sleep over with my cousins on Friday night.  I ended up not sleeping over and when I walked in the door at 1:30 a.m. this lovely surprise was all set up waiting for me.  I went upstairs to thank my awesome hubby and before I was able to go to sleep I had to come downstairs once more to admire this perfection!  If you can't tell I LOVE it and I'm pretty sure Brady loves it just as much.
2nd on Brady's list of gifts was the top to our stairs.  Yes I have given him a lot of crap for not installing this sooner but I know how it feels to work all day and then go home and work some more.  Not fun.  So he is now forgiven.

So today on my actual birthday my Mom and I went to Tai Pan to get some new decor for my front room.  I sure spent a lot and I did get everything that I've been wanting and looking for but now that it's all set up there sure isn't much to show for it.  Oh well I got exactly what I wanted so it doesn't really matter right?  It was fun spending the day with my Mom and Baine.  Baine was pretty good considering what we did.  Mom is always the best to shop with. Later Brady, Baine and I went to dinner in the great town of Preston to Mis Amores.  If you like Mexican and have never ate there it is so good!  Then Mom and Dad came over and Mom had made me a red velvet cake.  She knows what I like!  Red velvet is the best!   Like I said, best birthday ever!  Don't worry now I'm watching Two and a Half Men, blogging and enjoying the evening with my man.

All About Baine

He looks so big in his high chair haha!
I've been meaning to write a post about Baine and everything he's been up to and what he is doing lately but I just haven't gotten around to it.  So here goes.......the title of this post is exactly what this boy is all about.  He runs the Bobka household.  I was always the girl who said "my child will NEVER do that!"  Well I was wrong.  He put me in my place.  He's drawn on my walls, hit and kicked people, chucked toys at peoples heads, got down in a restaurant and ran around, (even when I've tried my hardest to restrain him).  He's broke things, ruined things.  Made little kids cry but you know what, he seriously is the best kid ever!  Always been a good sleeper and a good eater.  Loves giving hugs and kisses.  He's a pretty good sharer for a 21 month old.  He listens pretty well.  He's very sensitive to feelings, (depending) and he knows when no means no.  He plays hard and uses his imagination.
Lately he's been learning to golf, and play basketball and soccer.  He seems to be pretty interested in sports.  Brady has taken him golfing a couple times this year and Baine loves it and likes to yell "MISS"!   He's talking more and more.  He doesn't seem to be as clear as other kids around his age but he tries.  I can for the most part get what he is trying to say.  He just barely started putting 2 to 3 words together about a week or so ago.  He loves to say "there it is" to anything.  Apparently he thinks we're always looking for stuff.  He asks every morning where Ro, Grammy, Daddy, and Zeus are.  It's probably because Ro and Grammy are at his house a lot.
Parkin' his couch by the bathroom waiting
for Dad to get done.
He is starting to repeat everything you say.  Brady and my family, and well I guess me, we all have a little language problem we should work on but I doubt any of it is going to change.  He's still not much of a treats person.  He eats them when they are offered and sometimes he'll be on a fruit snack kick but he didn't get my love for the sweets.  Which is a good thing.  He does love juice though, which is a problem if he's with the wrong person.  :)  I'm pretty sure I have the best, smartest, cutest kid ever!  He is a genius!

Jeepin'

He just learned how to steer his jeep all by himself a couple weeks ago and now we can't get him out of it.  He can even reverse and know which way to turn the wheel and everything!  He surprises me daily.  Smart little boy!

Hogle Zoo

FYI Wagon rentals are $7 there.
Take your own ride.
Alison was here this past week so we went to the Zoo one of the days she was here.  It was okay.  Not many animals to look at right now but I'm sure during the summer there will be more.  We will have to try to go again in the summer.

Can you see Alison?  Nerd.  :)

Freaky!

The kids loved this stupid ball.  To heck
with the animals.

All Baine wanted to do was
drive the stupid stroller.  Dang kid.

Baine loves the carousal.  One of my favorite things to ride.

Easter

We had 3 different hunts and boy can this kid find some eggs!  He loved it!  He still asks to "hi eg".  So fun!  These top two pictures were from our neighborhood hunt just in our little subdivision.

These bottom pictures are from the annual Tarbet Egg Hunt.  I think the adults get more into it than the kids.  This year the kids even got bubbles!

29 Again

It was Brady's birthday yesterday.  He turned 29 for the 5th time.  Poor guy.  Hehehe.  Anyways, it was very uneventful for him.  Not for me.  I had Ronin and now I fully understand the phrase 'partner's in crime'.  I also fully understand why parents have leashes and I don't think I would be embarrassed to use one.  This is probably why I only have 1 kid!  I was supposed to get up early and cook Brady the breakfast that I had promised.  (didn't happen)  I went to lunch with him.  He worked all day and when he got home he didn't have a meal sitting on the table like I had promised.  (whoops)  So we went and got pizza.  He also didn't get a cake.  (whoops again)  I had a hard day alright!  Kids can be rough.  I did though get him a present.  That was pretty good on my part.

Hitting

And it's back.........I'm stumped.  Everything I've read says not to hit them back.  Everything I've read says to stay calm and collected.  I've done a lot of googling about this one.  I was on the verge of calling the doctor because I couldn't handle it anymore.  Until you have had a hitter you will not understand what I'm going through and it is rough.  I finally lost my cool.  I hit my child.  Not like that!  He chucked a plastic egg at Deegan's head.  He had been hitting him ALL FLIPPIN day long!!  I had had it.  So........I chucked it back.  Right in the head.  He had his feelings hurt.  It was more embarrassment than anything.  This was a week ago, and to my knowledge he hasn't hit since.  Maybe it's luck, maybe not.  Maybe I'm just a dang good Mom who needs to lose her cool once in a while.  I'm going with luck!

Tough Guy

I did it again.  I hurt my little boy.  Remember the flat iron burns?  Well I now got his head and gashed it with horns.  Of course I didn't mean too.  I was actually trying to untangle his foot from a cord when I gave him a little push to back up, he fell and landed on a horn.  As you can see the gash was a pretty big one.  I'm sure I was more traumatized than him.  He kept telling everyone that Mommy hurt him.  "Mommy hur" he would say.  Well he still loved me in the end.

Pity Party

Ever had one?  Well I'm having one/had one.  It's pretty much done.  Let me tell you how it started.  Since my blog is private I don't really care if I write about this.  I think I only have 3 readers anyways so I'm just gonna complain about this.

I love my job.  I love how flexible it is.  I love how if I don't have appointments I don't have to go in.  I love everyone I work with.  I LOVE hair!  What I don't love is that I don't have a steady paycheck.  I don't get benefits.  I don't get paid vacation.  If it's a holiday and it lands on a day that I work and I decide to take that day off.  I just lost money.  Not only clients money but I also still have to pay for my booth that day.  I work 6 days a month, 2 days a week, and I pay just as much as I would to be renting an apartment.  THIS is all OKAY, because I knew that's what I was getting into.  I get the flexibility for myself, my family and kids, that most people do not get.  So this is not a complaint.

My complaint is that when I'm working and I have a full day and I'm booked with back to back appointments, that doesn't mean that I'm making the big bucks.  I love walk-ins and referrals.  Those are what brings me money.  So the other day I had a full day of requests and a walk-in color at the end.  My requests weren't big money makers.  That means I was looking forward to my color.  Color is my #1 thing. I'm very good at it.  Most of the time when I can just get someone in my chair that's all it takes.  They are my clients after that.  So I get done with all of my requests and I go to check my books and my color isn't there.  They must of canceled.  I was so bummed.  That was money and I love colors.  I kept looking for some reason and the walk in was moved to another girls books.  I ask the receptionist why.  She said so and so did it and she wasn't sure why.  I was pissed!!  So and so isn't in charge of the books.  She is just like me.  All she does is work there.  So I go up to this girl and ask her why.  I tell her that she basically just took $80 bucks from me.  Her only reason was that the girl who she moved the appointment to didn't have anything all day so she gave her mine.  We exchanged a few words.  I had a vision to smack her in the face, with a chair, real hard.  I understand what's done is done.  Maybe I'll be able to get over my pity party faster now.  I really hate know it all's and I seem to be around a lot of them.

Now to make matters worse I have to go tell the Manager, who I really like.  She deals with a lot of bull crap coming from the 30 people that work there.  Most of the issues are minor.  I know mine is a little bit of a bigger one but that doesn't make it any easier to tattle.

April Fools!

I got a few ideas for April Fools off of Pinterest.  I've had it for a couple months.  I'm so bad at keep secrets, especially from Brady that I was hoping I could wait long enough and pull this off.  It was nothing crazy.  Just a little Icy Hot on the toilet seat.  I put a little too much in the front and not a whole lot in the back.  (Oops, my bad.)  :)  It still did the trick.  I got yelled at, threatened, and there were words that I won't write down for Brady's sake.  He told me to run because I was going to die!  I felt a sense of accomplishment with his reaction.  Happy Fools Day!  Until next year........
